  • How do I order eggs?
    Message us on Facebook or Instagram @Buckruncoop or call us at 610-806-3601 (leave a message and we will get back to you!) We except cash and Venmo (QR code located on label of packaging)! If paying with cash, exact change is appreciated! We try to keep our mini fridge stocked with eggs during the spring, summer and fall months, so feel free to stop by and check what's available! But please remember - during the winter months egg production slow downs, so please contact us to order eggs!
  • How much do eggs cost?
    6 eggs $1.75 12 eggs $3.50 18 eggs $5.25 We except cash and Venmo (QR code located on label of packaging) If paying with cash, exact change is appreciated!
  • Where are you located?
    We are located at 275 Octorara Rd. Parkesburg Pa. Our mailbox has a bright red rooster on it! Once you pull down the driveway you will notice our "Fresh Egg" red mini fridge. The fridge runs on the honor system, and payment can be place in the canning jar located in fridge!
  • Are the girls happy?
    We like to think so! The girls have access to 3 acres of grass and bugs to graze over! They get to dig in the dirt, sunbath, eat treats from the kitchen and garden, and jump around on there own picnic table outside!
  • Are the girls healthy?
    With 15+ years of raising chickens under our belt, we have experienced it all! Along with a balanced layer feed, the girls are fed oregano and cinnamon, a natural antibiotic and antioxidant. Oyster shells (high in calcium) are also added to there feed, keeping there bones and eggshells strong! We add apple cider vinegar to their water, offering immune support by attacking bad bacteria in the digestive tract, and contains the added benefits of vitamins, minerals and trace elements. The girls also run around 3 acres of grass, keeping them in tip-top shape!
  • Do you have a loyalty program?
    Yes we do! Simply pick up a loyalty card in the mini fridge during you next visit, and check off how many dozens you purchased! When you purchase your 9th dozen, you get the 10th dozen for free!
  • Do hens lay eggs year round?
    Yes, they do! But egg production dramatically decreases during the winter months due to shorter days. So please message us before stoping by, so we can make sure we have enough eggs to complete your order!
  • Do you recycle egg cartons?
    Yes! We reuse clean, lightly used egg cartons! Feel free to drop off your clean used egg cartons in our mini fridge!
  • How long do pastured eggs last?
    Here at Buck Run coop we follow FDA guidlines for proper egg storage. The eggs are washed of there "bloom" and refrigerated at or bellow 41 F. Farm fresh eggs last much longer then store bought eggs (up to a month)!
  • What are common quality issues with farm fresh eggs?
    Blood spots: Blood spots are caused by a ruptured blood vessel on the yolk's surface as the egg is being formed. This is normally caused by the hen getting excited by changes in lighting, temperature or shifting in seasons! Blood spots are not an indication of fertilized eggs. If desired, the spot can be removed with the tip of a clean knife prior to cooking! Thin egg white: Watering egg white can be caused by a number of things; like a hen old age, or hot temperatures. Watery egg white are safe to eat!
  • Are pastured eggs healthier?
    Yes! Pastured eggs are: -1/3 lower in cholesterol -have twice as much omega-3 fatty acids -3 times as much vitamin E -7 times as much beta carotene -2/3 more vitamin A -1/4 less saturated fats
  • Do you hatch or sell chicks?
    Unfortunately we do not!
